DIMET EMG-SM series electromagnets are designed for handling metal scrap, turnings and grey cast iron bars. The series is suitable for virtually all mobile scrap handling machines as well as for overhead cranes. A heat-resistant version for hot loads up to 650 °C is also available.

Model EMG 185 SM has a diameter of 1,850 mm, a weight of 4,000 kg and a pull-off force of at least 66,000 kg.

Main design advantages EMG-SM

1. Cast housing – The solid cast housing with cooling fins has a large heat transfer area that prevents the electromagnet from overheating and extends continuous operation.
2. Coil material – High-quality wire with improved insulation greatly reduces the risk of interturn short circuits. The electromagnet is more reliable and easy to repair – in the event of failure only the coil needs to be rewound.
3. Heat-insulating seal – Maintains the optimum coil temperature when handling loads up to 650 °C and ensures stable lifting capacity.
4. High-quality casting compound – Prevents electrical breakdown between the coil wire and the housing and reduces coil heating.
5. Reinforced armour plate – Reliably protects the coil and considerably extends the service life of the electromagnet.
