Product description
DIMET EMG SCRAP-B series electromagnets are designed for handling metal scrap, turnings and grey cast iron bars. These heavy, very powerful electromagnets have a rectangular shape and large dimensions and are intended mainly for unloading scrap from railway wagons. The series is suitable for handling machines as well as overhead cranes. Versions for underwater operation and a heat-resistant version for hot loads up to 650 °C are available.

Main design advantages EMG SCRAP-B
- Cast housing – The solid cast housing with cooling fins has a large heat transfer area that prevents the electromagnet from overheating and extends continuous operation.
- Coil material – High-quality wire with improved insulation greatly reduces the risk of interturn short circuits. The electromagnet is more reliable and easy to repair – in the event of failure only the coil needs to be rewound.
- Heat-insulating seal – Maintains the optimum coil temperature when handling loads up to 650 °C and ensures stable lifting capacity.
- High-quality casting compound – Prevents electrical breakdown between the coil wire and the housing and reduces coil heating.
- Reinforced armour plate – Reliably protects the coil and considerably extends the service life of the electromagnet.
